Introducing Henriot
Established in 1808, Champagne Henriot boasts one of the few independent Champagne houses. It remains in the hands of the same family throughout its long and distinguished history, allowing both expertise and passion to be passed through the generations. Apollline Henriot launched ‘Masion Henriot’ and ultimately passed on her savoir-faire to her grandson, Ernest- from there, the Henriot family tradition was born.
For over 200 years, the family has selected grapes from only the very best vineyards. Each individual bottle had aged far longer than the legal minimum, in order to ensure each cuvée has an opportunity to evoke its full expression. The quality and high standards at Champagne Henriot have long stood the test of time, and this was recognized in 2015 and 2016, when Cellar Master Laurent Fresnet was titled for 2 consecutive years as IWCs “Sparkling Winemaker of the Year”. Laurent moved on at the beginning of 2020 and was succeeded by the talented Alice Tétienne who had previously worked with Krug.
Champagne Henriot is comprised of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier- this cleverly orchestrated balance gives the wine a richer palate and fruity characteristics. Well balanced on the palate, enjoy delicious notes of lightly toasted brioche and citrus fruit aromas.
We are also happy to introduce Champagne Henriot Brut Rose NV. The Rosé cuvée combines elegance and intensity in the purest Henriot style. This cuvée is made up of 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier with 3 years aging before release. Carrying notes of raspberries, crushed cherries and pink grapefruit- we think this makes the perfect summer drink.
We are delighted to be adding this to our wine list, and even better- it is available by the glass!
