During this time of crisis, our wonderful town has seen people come together to support one another and do what Scottish communities so well – lift one another’s spirts. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Strathaven Hotel, but until then, we’ve pulled together some of our favourite ways to get involved or support the Strathaven community during COVID-19 …
Treat yourself to a traditional afternoon tea from home
Hoping to send a little bit of their comforting atmosphere out into our homes, Marianna and her squad at the Tudor Coffee House are running an Afternoon Tea delivery service. Packed full of sandwiches and tasty sweet treats, their indulgent foodie offering comes in at £20 for 2 people, whilst a Kiddies Tea is priced at £10 for 2.

Strathaven Community Resilience Group
The Strathaven Community Resilience Group has been providing important supplies to food banks, alongside putting local volunteers in touch with vulnerable residents in need of food, prescriptions and essential supplies. The group have had a wonderful response from people wanting to help out during the current pandemic. If you are in need of help, you can submit a request form to the community here.
All the details you provide them with will be handled confidentiality; only given to support admins and the people directly dealing with your request. Don’t struggle alone!
Roasted’s local grocery pick-up

Hoop for Cancer Research with Strathaven Powerhoop
In a bid to fill the void of the now cancelled ‘Race for Life’, the Strathaven Super Hoopers will be taking part in a Powerhoopathon on Sunday 17th of May. Join them as they virtually cheer each other on and ‘pass the baton’ from one to the next, aiming to hoop for a total of 12 hours as a group throughout the day. You can join the event here, or simply donate to their worthwhile cause over on their fundraising page.
Treat yourself to a take-away coffee from the Heron Farm Shop
Itching for a coffee that you didn’t have to make yourself? Us too! The espresso machine at the Heron Farm Shop and Kitchen has been booted back into action and is now offering takeaway coffees, teas and hot chocolates. The shop is also stocking 1kg grab bags of plain, bread, self-raising and wholemeal flours. Take a look on their website: www.theheronfarmshop.com
